CHS Class of 1976 40th Reunion
July 22nd and 23rd, 2016
How time flies. It feels like it was just last year that we had our 30th class reunion but it’s been 10 years. We’re hoping to have a record turnout for the 40th. Most of us are at the age where we’re empty nesters and find travel a bit easier than when the kids were young and we were juggling soccer, football, cheer and school. I also think that the majority of us have reached a comfortable point in our careers and are looking at spending more quality time with friends and family. Well with that said this is your opportunity!
Come join us for the Carroll High School Class of 1976 40th Reunion. It’s going to be held July 22nd and 23rd in Ozark Alabama. You’ll have a chance to tour the new High School, meet with old classmates and stroll down memory lane. Friday night we'll meet and greet at Johnny’s BARcelona Restaurant on the square in Ozark for an impromptu get together. It’s a great place to eat and meet with people. We’ll have a few fun activities for those who come. It’s casual and a “cover your own tab” type evening.
Saturday will be the official Reunion event. At 10am Saturday morning we'll meet at Carroll High for a tour of the new High School. Then you're on your own to tour around town or meet up with others before getting ready for the main event Saturday night. It’s being held at the Holman Mansion on Broad Street, a truly magnificent home and we’re thrilled they could accommodate our 40th reunion. They even say it’s a little haunted so we’ll have to see if the ghost of Holman Mansion appears Saturday night. It’s an evening filled with eating great food, music and dancing. There will be a couple of activities but on the whole it’s an evening focusing on classmates reminiscing and getting back in touch with old friends.
This reunion we’ve decided to do things a bit different then in the past. We’ve opened ticket sales up to classes from 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1978. Our class numbers aren’t getting any larger and many of us had good friends that were both upper and lower classmates. So we decided the more the merrier. Ticket sales will go on sale to the Class of 1976 first and then open up to other class years.
Something else that we’re doing this class reunion is raising money to purchase an Eagle Mascot costume for Carroll High. Most of us realize how tight funding is in the public school sector and we’d like to leave this reunion year knowing that we’ve made a lot of kids pretty happy. Those who come back for Homecoming this year, it is our class year to be invited, will get to see the costume in full use. Do please think about donating a couple of dollars on the donation page. We’ll be adding more to the website as we get photos and information in concerning classmates.
Thanks and hope to see you at the reunion. Let’s make it the best yet!
