Artist: Leslie Blackmon
Linocut.
Size will follow.
Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for the relief surface. The drawing is carved into the linoleum and then printed. The different colors are printed at different stages of the carving, so it is more complex than a straightforward black and white print. The technical name for the process is that it is a multiple stage "reductive" printing process. Both pieces are handprinted by Leslie and signed.
